According to the Daegu Metropolitan Government on the 13th, a delegation from Daegu City will visit Da Nang, Vietnam

for three nights and four days at the invitation of Da Nang City from the 14th.

Daegu City and Da Nang City began exchanges in 2003 and it has been 20 years this year

and the visit was made at the official invitation of Da Nang City.

Daegu City is a sister to Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh in the south, and Bac Ninh Province in the north.

It has established friendly relations, established economic exchange bases throughout Vietnam

and continues exchanges centered on economic cooperation.

Daegu City’s visit to Da Nang plans to discuss various economic exchanges and cooperation measures to expand exports

and explore the possibility of local companies entering Da Nang, which is growing into a large global market

and to participate in various projects such as local energy and infrastructure projects.

Daegu Mayor Hong Joon Pyo will meet party secretary Nguyen Van Quang at the Da Nang People’s

Committee to celebrate the 20th anniversary of friendly exchanges between Daegu and Da Nang.

Based on the unchanging friendship and cooperation between Daegu City and Da Nang City, Mayor Hong Joon Pyo,

and the party secretary plan to seek ways to revitalize exchanges in various ways

including cooperation in economic exchanges between the two cities

and actively continue excellent municipal policies and human exchanges in the future.

The mayor of Hong Joon Pyo will then hold an ODA project briefing at Da Nang City Hall

including a briefing on the current status of the “Smart City Disaster Safety Management System Construction Project”

that Winitech, a local company in Daegu City, has been promoting as an ODA project

in Daegu City since the second half of last year.

The ABB-linked project will confirm the possibility of spreading to other parts of the world

including Vietnam, and encourage officials.

Currently, Daegu is working hard to establish an ABB industrial base and a digital innovation base in

Suseong Alpha City to leap forward as an ABB-based digital innovation city.

Later in the day, 12 people, including Da Nang City Hall officials and Korean language students at

Da Nang University, will be appointed as Daegu-Danang Friendship Ambassador (D-Lover)

and we ask for the promotion of friendship between the two cities and their activities as civilian diplomacy.
